Mountain Creek Resort offers free lift ticket for Gettysburg Address challenge on Lincoln’s birthday
VERNON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Mountain Creek Resort will mark President Abraham Lincoln’s birthday this week with a history-themed challenge that rewards memorization with a free lift ticket.
The resort announced Tuesday that any guest who successfully recites the full 272-word Gettysburg Address will receive one free lift ticket on Thursday, Feb. 12, celebrating Lincoln’s 217th birthday. Recitations will take place at Joe C’s Café inside the Red Tail Lodge between 9 a.m. and noon.
Participants must recite the speech in its entirety without the use of phones, headphones, AirPods or other listening devices.
“Celebrating Lincoln’s Birthday has become a fun annual tradition at Mountain Creek,” said Evan Kovach, general manager of Mountain Creek Resort. “It’s a unique way for guests to enjoy history while hitting the slopes, and we’re excited to welcome families for another great President’s Day weekend.”
