NEWTON, N.J. (Sussex County) — Project Self-Sufficiency will host a Baby Beginnings Fair later this month, offering resources and education for expectant parents and families with newborns.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, at 1 p.m. and will feature a presentation on infant first aid and safety by healthcare expert Lorrie Koonz.
Organizers said the event will provide information on early childhood health and development, parenting strategies and local resources, along with access to free and low-cost family activities.
“We are excited to be offering these innovative and fun gatherings to the community,” explains Deborah Berry-Toon, Executive Director of Project Self-Sufficiency. “Pregnant women and parents of young children have a great need for accurate information about a host of topics, and the Family Connects NJ Baby Beginnings Fairs will allow them to receive up-to-date health and wellness advice, as well as free items for baby and family.”
Attendees will receive lunch, as well as free baby items, prizes and giveaways, according to organizers.
The fair is part of the Family Connects NJ program, which supports Project Self-Sufficiency’s broader services for families, including home visitation programs, parenting events and support groups.
Pregnant women and parents of young children can register by calling 973-940-3500.
