Lane closures set near Easton-Phillipsburg Toll Bridge Tuesday, Wednesday

Daytime lane closures are scheduled Tuesday, April 14 and Wednesday, April 15 near the Easton-Phillipsburg (Route 22) Toll Bridge as part of ongoing engineering work, officials said.

The off-peak closures will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days in the vicinity of the toll plaza.

On Tuesday, the left lane of Route 22 westbound approaching the toll plaza in New Jersey will be closed, with two of three travel lanes remaining open. On Wednesday, the left lane of Route 22 eastbound crossing the bridge from Pennsylvania into New Jersey will be closed, leaving one of two lanes open.

Officials said the temporary restrictions are necessary to allow engineers to conduct measurements and related work tied to the design of a future open-road, all-electronic toll collection system at the bridge.

Travel delays are not expected, but motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the area.

The lane closures are subject to change due to weather, emergencies or other factors, officials said.
