Mosquito spraying scheduled June 26 in 2 Morris County towns

MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — The Morris County Mosquito Commission plans to conduct mosquito control treatments in portions of Morris Plains Borough and Hanover Township early Friday, June 26, weather permitting.

The treatments are scheduled to take place between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. using all-terrain vehicles to apply mosquito control products in wooded areas.

According to the commission, the following locations are scheduled for treatment:

  • Jim Fear Drive in Morris Plains
  • Malapardis Road at Malapardis Park in Hanover

The commission said it will use either Anvil 2+2, containing the active ingredient sumithrin, or Zenivex E4, containing the active ingredient etofenprox. Both products are registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for mosquito control.

The treatments are being conducted in response to an increase in adult mosquito populations, according to the commission.
