MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Mount Olive Township will offer a municipally owned vacant residential lot on Whippoorwill Road through a public auction scheduled for Aug. 18.

The 0.37-acre parcel, identified as Block 2209, Lot 5.01, is zoned for single-family residential development and is located in the Budd Lake section of the township.

Township officials said the unimproved lot presents an opportunity for homeowners, builders and investors to construct a custom home with access to nearby highways, shopping, parks, schools and recreational amenities.

Water and sewer connections are available for the property, which is located near Route 46, Interstate 80, Route 206, Budd Lake and Turkey Brook Park.

The public auction is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at the Mount Olive Township Municipal Building, 204 Flanders-Drakestown Road in Budd Lake.

The minimum opening bid is $137,500.

The property will be sold subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the township’s official Notice of Sale and Bid Package.
