Mountain Lake to host Fourth of July boat parade celebrating nation’s 250th anniversary
LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Boaters are invited to decorate their watercraft in red, white and blue and take part in the annual Fourth of July Boat Parade on Mountain Lake this Saturday.
According to the Mountain Lake Community Association, participants will gather at 9:45 a.m. near the boat launch on the west side of the lake before the parade begins at 10 a.m.
The procession will follow a lead boat playing patriotic music provided by DJ Lunden Fog as participants make a slow lap around the lake.
The event is open to all types of boats, with organizers encouraging participants to decorate their vessels in patriotic colors.
In addition to celebrating Independence Day and the nation’s 250th anniversary, this year’s parade will also mark the end of the recent harmful algal bloom advisory and the return of favorable lake conditions after state officials lifted the advisory earlier this week.
Organizers said anyone with “anything that floats” is welcome to participate. Some participants also plan to celebrate the parade’s conclusion with a swim in the lake.
