
Driver trapped, flown to hospital after Warren County crash
MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — A driver was flown to a hospital after becoming trapped in a vehicle following a serious crash Wednesday morning in Mansfield Township, according to the Mansfield Township Fire Company No. 1.
Emergency crews, including the Mansfield Township Fire Company, Tri-County Volunteer Fire Company, Mansfield Township Police Department and Independence First Aid Squad, were dispatched to Janes Chapel Road for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment.
Fire officials said chiefs from the Mansfield Township and Tri-County fire companies arrived simultaneously and found a male driver trapped inside the vehicle and unable to get out.
Firefighters and Mansfield Township police officers worked together to free the driver, who was then turned over to Independence First Aid Squad personnel for treatment.
The patient was later transferred to an Atlantic Health air medical helicopter and flown to a hospital.
The cause of the crash and the extent of the driver’s injuries were not immediately available.
