Warren County Farmers’ Fair returns Saturday with hot air balloons, concerts and family attractions
HARMONY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — The Warren County Farmers’ Fair returns Saturday, July 25, offering eight days of agricultural exhibits, hot air balloons, carnival rides, live entertainment and family activities through Aug. 1 at the Warren County Farmers’ Fairgrounds, 1350 Strykers Road, Harmony Township.
Now in its 88th year, the fair continues a tradition that began with gatherings of farmers, mechanics and manufacturers in 1859 before the Warren County Farmers’ Fair was incorporated in 1937. Organizers say this year’s event will celebrate American farmers and family traditions in honor of the nation’s 250th birthday.
One of the fair’s signature attractions is the 26th annual Hot Air Balloon Festival, which features nightly mass balloon launches, weather permitting. Balloon rides and tethered rides also will be offered, with schedules dependent on weather conditions. Access to the balloon festival is included with fair admission.
The fairgrounds also will feature an expanded midway operated by McDaniel Brothers Shows with rides, games and food for all ages. Wristband specials will be announced.
Free nightly concerts will feature local bands including the Harmony Garage Band, Reel to Real Country Band, Waitin’ on Sundown and Time Whys.
Agricultural traditions remain a centerpiece of the event, with horse shows, 4-H and FFA exhibits, baking and canning displays, pony rides and other farm-related activities highlighting Warren County’s agricultural heritage.
Visitors also can explore the Traditional Arts Expo, where local artisans will demonstrate quilting, weaving and crocheting techniques.
Main arena entertainment includes Bullride Mania Rodeo on opening day, demolition derbies on Sunday and Friday, tractor and truck pulls, antique vehicle shows, a fire truck and apparatus show, and other motorsports events.
Children can enjoy the Kids Corral, which offers free shows, crafts, educational programs and contests throughout the week, along with the Kids Rodeo Roundup and the debut of a youth division in the Agricultural Olympics on the fair’s closing day.
Food vendors will offer a variety of fair favorites, from farm-fresh ice cream and strawberry shortcake to traditional midway fare.
