Hackettstown Rotary’s Memorial Motor Madness Car Show returns Sept. 6 after weather postponement

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — The Hackettstown Rotary’s annual Memorial Motor Madness Car Show will return Sept. 6 after storms forced organizers to cancel the event’s originally scheduled May date.

The Rotary worked with sponsor Mars Snacking to secure the new date for the popular car show, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of the Mars Snacking headquarters at 800 High St. in Hackettstown.

As many as 500 vehicles have participated in previous shows, with the event drawing thousands of visitors each year, according to organizers.

The family-friendly event will feature multiple vehicle classes, including antique cars from 1940 through 1979, antique trucks, muscle cars, foreign sports cars and a special Corvette class.

Music will be provided by Doc South and S.C.3. Entertainment.

Several food trucks are scheduled to participate, including 69th Street Pitt, Dymski Pierogies and We Squeeze to Please. Retail vendors will include John Barn Signs, Big Fat Golden Pony and Funtime Collectible, among others.

Admission is $5 at the gate, while children younger than 12 will be admitted free. Gates will open at 7:30 a.m. for exhibitors and vendors.

Organizers said dogs and smoking are not permitted on the property.

Proceeds from the event will support more than 40 community organizations and programs that receive funding from the Hackettstown Rotary Foundation. Beneficiaries include the Joan Knechel Cancer Center at Hackettstown Medical Center, The Arc of Warren County, local high school scholarships, The Foodshed Alliance, Hackettstown Library, Abilities, local food pantries, Habitat for Humanity and Operation Chillout, among others.
