Project Self-Sufficiency Polo Classic returns to Allamuchy on Sept. 12
ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Project Self-Sufficiency will hold its second annual Polo Classic in Allamuchy Township on Saturday, Sept. 12, with proceeds benefiting programs and services for low-income individuals and families across northwest New Jersey.
The event will be held at Grayfields Polo Club and is being organized in partnership with NJ Polo.
“We are excited to be partnering with NJ Polo to raise funds for the programs and services which are essential for struggling families in our area,” said Project Self-Sufficiency Executive Director Deborah Berry-Toon. “The Project Self-Sufficiency Polo Classic invites people of all ages to come together in a fun and relaxing environment, see an exciting sporting event, enjoy a tailgate and time outdoors, and support local families in need.”
Activities will begin at noon. VIP Tent ticketholders will receive hors d’oeuvres, cuisine and signature drinks catered by Andre’s Lakeside Dining, while tailgaters and general admission guests set up their viewing areas.
The polo match is scheduled to begin at 1:15 p.m., following the national anthem performed by Senior Airman Gianna Perez of the U.S. Air Force.
Teams representing sponsors First Hope Bank and Lakeland Construction will compete in the match.
At halftime, spectators will be invited onto the field for the traditional divot stomp, during which participants help smooth areas of turf disturbed during play. The Mike Lawlor Band will perform during the halftime activity.
Other activities planned throughout the event include competitions for best hat and best tailgate, a silent auction and the naming of the match’s most valuable player and Best Playing Polo.
Vendors and attractions are expected to include the Black Forest Inn Food Truck, the Cupboard Shop, De Gracia & Estevez Cigars, Father John’s Animal House, Fleece Finds & More, Flying Bee Farms, Kathleen Little Jewelry & Metalsmith, Kona Ice and Peter’s Valley School of Craft.
Sponsorship opportunities remain available at levels ranging from $2,500 to $25,000.
