NEW JERSEY — U.S. Postal Service locations and New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission facilities will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.
All Post Office locations will be closed for the federal holiday, with regular mail delivery and retail services scheduled to resume Tuesday, Sept. 8, according to the Postal Service.
Customers can continue to access a number of postal services online while locations are closed, including ordering stamps and USPS boxes, placing mail on hold, submitting a change of address, renting or renewing a post office box and printing prepaid shipping labels.
Self-service kiosks are also available at select Post Office lobbies. Depending on the location, customers can purchase postage and stamps, weigh and mail packages and access package tracking information. Many kiosks are available 24 hours a day.
The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission said all of its facilities, including licensing agencies, road test sites and inspection stations, will also be closed Monday for the state holiday.
NJMVC facilities will operate during normal business hours for the remainder of the week, including Saturday, Sept. 5.
More than 25 motor vehicle services remain available online, including driver’s license renewals and replacements, vehicle registration renewals and replacements, address changes, driver record requests and personalized and specialty license plate requests.
The NJMVC recommends customers check its website before visiting a facility to access online services, schedule appointments, determine required documents and find answers to common questions.
Both USPS and NJMVC facilities are scheduled to resume regular operations Tuesday.
