Hackettstown flower shop spreads kindness with 50 bouquets for National Petal It Forward Day

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — A Hackettstown flower shop spread kindness throughout the community Wednesday by handing out 50 bouquets of flowers in celebration of National Petal It Forward Day.

Calico Country Flowers, located at 634 Willow Grove St., distributed the bouquets to 25 people throughout the community, giving each recipient two arrangements — one to keep and another to give to someone who could use encouragement or a reason to smile.

According to Calico Country Flowers, the initiative was designed to brighten people’s days while encouraging them to share kindness with others.

The flower shop said even a small gesture, such as receiving a bouquet, can make a meaningful difference and inspire others to pay it forward.

As part of the celebration, recipients were encouraged to give their second bouquet to a friend, family member, neighbor or anyone who might benefit from an unexpected act of kindness.

Calico Country Flowers said it believes flowers are more than just decorations, describing them as a way to connect people, share appreciation and bring happiness to the community.

The business also expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the initiative and spread positivity throughout Hackettstown.

Those who received bouquets were encouraged to share photos on social media and tag Calico Country Flowers to show how they passed their flowers along to others.

National Petal It Forward Day encourages florists to distribute flowers as a way to promote kindness, generosity and human connection.
