Huge crowds turn out for Hackettstown’s 13th annual Halloween Downtown celebration

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Huge crowds filled downtown Hackettstown on Saturday, Oct. 31, as families and children dressed in creative costumes gathered for the town’s 13th annual Halloween Downtown celebration.

The event, held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the gazebo near Main and West Moore streets, featured a Halloween parade, costume contest, candy giveaways and trick-or-treating at downtown businesses. Beautiful fall weather provided the backdrop as families enjoyed an afternoon of Halloween festivities.

Mayor Jerry DiMaio led the Halloween parade alongside the Hackettstown Police Department and this year’s costume contest winners. Parade lineup and judging began at noon near Centenary University on West Moore Street, between Beatty Street and Second Avenue, before participants made their way through downtown.
