County College of Morris to host free criminal justice career fair Nov. 19

RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — County College of Morris (CCM) will host a free Criminal Justice Career Fair on Thursday, Nov. 19, bringing together more than 30 federal, state and local employers to connect students, graduates, job seekers and career changers with opportunities in criminal justice, law enforcement, public safety and community services.

The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Jack Martin Gymnasium, located in the college’s Health and Physical Education Building at 214 Center Grove Road in Randolph.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet representatives from law enforcement agencies, emergency management organizations, legal services and other public service fields. The fair will feature interactive exhibits, career information and opportunities to learn directly from professionals about employment requirements and career pathways.

According to 2026 labor market data from JobsEQ, approximately 4,500 people in Morris County work in occupations related to criminal justice and police science. The data projects a need for more than 3,200 newly trained workers in those fields in Morris County over the next seven years, along with nearly 46,000 across New Jersey during the same period.

“Career fairs give students, job seekers and career changers the chance to talk directly with professionals who know their fields and find out what employers are looking for,” said Dr. Maureen Kazaba, professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at CCM. “You don’t have to be a criminal justice major to benefit. There are many career paths to explore, and meeting employers in person can also help students discover the education needed for opportunities they may not have considered.”

More than 30 employers and organizations are expected to participate, including the United States Secret Service, New Jersey Army National Guard, New Jersey Courts Morris and Sussex Vicinage, Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Morris County Office of Temporary Assistance, Morris County Communications Center, Rutgers University, New Jersey Institute of Technology Department of Public Safety and Navigating Hope.

Local police departments planning to attend include Butler, Chester, Denville, Dover, Hanover, Madison, Morris Plains, Morristown, Parsippany-Troy Hills, Rockaway and Wharton. The New Jersey State Police and New York Police Department Recruitment Section are also among the participating agencies.

Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes and take advantage of the opportunity to introduce themselves to potential employers, ask questions and learn about qualifications for positions in their fields of interest.

Prospective students can also explore CCM’s associate degree and certificate programs in criminal justice, justice studies, legal studies and emergency services. College representatives will be available to provide information about academic programs and the admissions process.

CCM’s Criminal Justice program has been recognized by College Factual as ranking among the top 10% of criminal justice programs nationwide and as a Best School for Associate Students to Study Criminal Justice and Corrections. The program has also received recognition from Best Accredited Colleges and Niche.

Students planning to attend the career fair should register in advance at ccm.edu/events/criminal-justice-career-fair-2/. Students attending independently rather than with a school group should indicate that when registering so they can receive a letter excusing them from school.

The career fair is free and open to students, graduates and members of the public interested in exploring careers in criminal justice and related fields.
