Hyundai donates 2025 Elantra N to Raritan Valley Community College automotive program

BRANCHBURG TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Somerset County) — Hyundai Motor America has donated a 2025 Hyundai Elantra N to Raritan Valley Community College’s Automotive Technology program, providing students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience using modern automotive technology.

The donated high-performance vehicle will be used to train students on the latest automotive systems, components and diagnostic procedures, helping prepare them for careers in the automotive industry.

“We are extremely grateful to Hyundai for this generous donation of a 2025 Hyundai Elantra N. Vehicles are one of the most necessary—and hardest to attain—items for automotive programs, and it’s vital for students to train on them in order to gain valuable, relevant experience,” said Sara Heller, Assistant Professor/Coordinator of RVCC’s Automotive Technology Program. “We cannot thank Hyundai enough for this donation. The students are already excited to begin learning about and training on the vehicle.”

The donation will allow students to work directly with technology found in Hyundai’s performance vehicles, including learning how to identify vehicle components, conduct diagnostics and understand systems they may encounter while working as professional automotive technicians.

In addition to the vehicle, Hyundai is providing a diagnostic scan tool known as GDS and access to web-based technical training, giving students experience with equipment and resources used in the automotive industry.

“The future of our industry depends on how well we prepare and inspire the next generation of automotive technicians,” said Emanue’l King, Senior Manager, Technical Training Programs, Hyundai Motor America. “This donation reflects Hyundai’s commitment to turning education into real-world opportunity. By placing a Hyundai vehicle, diagnostic scan tool (GDS), and our web-based technical training directly into students’ hands, we’re giving them experience with the same tools and technology they’ll encounter in the field. Our goal is to help students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and see a clear pathway from the classroom to a rewarding career within our dealership network.”

College officials said access to newer vehicles is essential for automotive education because it allows students to develop practical skills using technology currently found in the industry. The donation will help RVCC provide training that reflects the equipment, diagnostic systems and procedures students can expect to encounter in professional automotive service environments.

RVCC offers Automotive Technology degree and certificate programs designed to prepare students for employment in the automotive field through classroom instruction and hands-on training.
