Aerial mosquito larvicide treatments scheduled Sept. 16-17 in Morris County
MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — Aerial mosquito larvicide treatments are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday in eight Morris County municipalities due to high populations of mosquito larvae in aquatic habitats.
The Morris County Division of Mosquito Control said applications will be conducted by helicopter beginning at 7 a.m. Sept. 16 and 17 in Chatham, Chatham Township, East Hanover, Florham Park, Hanover, Lincoln Park, Montville and Parsippany.
The county will use VectoPrime FG, which contains the active ingredients Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis and (S)-methoprene.
Officials said the operation will target mosquito larvae in standing water and will not treat adult mosquitoes.
Residents with questions about the mosquito control program or scheduled treatments can contact the Morris County Division of Mosquito Control at 973-285-6450.
Additional information, including pesticide product labels, is available on the Morris County Division of Mosquito Control website.
