Affinity Federal Credit Union donates 2,000 pounds of food to New Jersey food banks
Affinity Federal Credit Union members donated 2,000 pounds of food to support the 2nd annual NJ Food Cooperative, a statewide initiative aimed at fighting food insecurity.
Affinity collected donations at its branches in Flemington, Hillsborough and Basking Ridge. The food was distributed to several area food banks, including the Flemington Food Bank (525 pounds), Franklin Food Bank (610 pounds), Food Bank Network of Somerset County (589 pounds), and Feeding Hands (255 pounds).
The NJ Food Cooperative is a joint effort by 12 credit unions across the state. This year’s food drive was led by First Harvest Credit Union and EdiFi Credit Union.
Affinity said the donations reflect its commitment to supporting local communities. “Helping fight hunger across New Jersey is an important way we can make a positive impact,” the credit union said in a statement.
