BASKING RIDGE, N.J. (Somerset County) — Affinity Federal Credit Union’s annual President’s Invitational Golf Outing raised more than $254,000 to support community grants, member relief and scholarships through the Affinity Foundation.

More than 160 golfers, guests and volunteers participated in the June 8 fundraiser at Stanton Ridge Golf and Country Club in Whitehouse Station, supporting the foundation’s efforts to combat poverty, promote education and improve the well-being of Affinity members and the communities it serves.

The foundation recognized its top event sponsors, including Allied Solutions, Fiserv, Vericast, VISA Inc., Clear Wave Wealth Management, Alloy, Candescent, Ferreira Group, Kasasa, Lockton Companies, Saldutti Law Group and TruStage.

“We thank everyone who showed up to support The Foundation’s mission,” said Kelly Watts, executive director of the Affinity Foundation. “This year, the support we provide is more important than ever. Your engagement translates into real impact for our members facing struggles and their communities.”

According to the foundation, proceeds from the outing will help fund grants for community-based nonprofit organizations, direct financial assistance for Affinity members facing hardships and annual scholarships for local students pursuing higher education.

The event also featured a cocktail reception, dinner and a raffle with more than 40 prize baskets donated by local businesses, members and employees.

During the event, Affinity President and CEO Kevin Brauer reflected on the foundation’s accomplishments and recognized the legacy of former CEO John Fenton, who led the credit union for more than three decades.

“When we come together, we honor the foundation laid by those who came before us,” said Brauer. “Affinity was founded with the ethos of ‘people helping people.’ The Foundation allows us to provide direct support to those who need it most, transforming our communities and promoting wellbeing for all.”

Fiserv earned first place in the golf tournament, followed by Schenck, Price, Smith & King LLP in second and VISA Inc. in third.
