Atlantic Health hospitals earn national recognition in Castle Connolly 2026 rankings
NEW JERSEY — Four Atlantic Health System hospitals have been named to the Castle Connolly Top Hospitals list for 2026, including one facility recognized among the nation’s top-tier performers.
Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center was named one of 38 “Gold Standard” hospitals nationwide, according to the annual rankings, which evaluate hospitals based on patient outcomes, quality of care and analysis of claims data.
Also included on the list are Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center, Atlantic Health CentraState Medical Center and Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center.
Morristown Medical Center received national rankings across multiple specialties and procedures, including cancer surgery, general surgery, heart and vascular surgery, obstetrics and gynecology surgery, mastectomy, weight loss surgery and several cardiovascular procedures.
CentraState Medical Center was nationally ranked in cancer surgery and mastectomy, while Chilton Medical Center earned regional rankings in cancer surgery, general surgery, mastectomy and hernia repair surgery.
Overlook Medical Center also received national rankings in general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology surgery, weight loss surgery, hysterectomy and colon surgery.

The Castle Connolly Top Hospitals program recognized 1,663 hospitals nationwide across six specialties and 19 procedures. Hospitals are ranked at national, state and regional levels, with the Gold Standard designation representing the highest tier of overall performers.
According to Castle Connolly, the rankings are based on a comprehensive data-driven methodology that includes claims data from public and private insurers, clinical performance measures such as mortality and complication rates, and the number of Castle Connolly Top Doctors affiliated with each hospital.
