CHATHAM TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal & Northern New Jersey will hold its sixth annual Big Shots Golf Classic on Oct. 5 to raise money for youth mentoring programs across the region.
The annual fundraiser will be held at Fairmount Country Club in Chatham and will feature golf, contests, prizes and opportunities for participants to learn more about the organization’s mentoring programs.
Proceeds from the event will support the organization’s efforts to recruit, screen, train and support volunteer mentors who are paired with young people through one-to-one mentoring relationships.
“Mentorship is one of the most effective investments we can make in a young person’s future,” said William Salcedo, Executive Director of BBBSCNNJ. “When a young person has a caring adult in their corner, they gain confidence, opportunity, and support that can last a lifetime. The Big Shots Golf Classic is more than a day on the course. It’s an opportunity for our community to come together and create more of these life-changing connections.”
Since its inception, the Big Shots Golf Classic has brought together corporate partners, community leaders, volunteers and other supporters of the organization.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Coastal & Northern New Jersey said money raised through the event directly supports mentoring programs that connect young people with adult role models who provide guidance, encouragement and ongoing support.
