Bridge repairs to begin July 29 on Roxiticus Road in Mendham Township

MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) – Beginning Tuesday, July 29, Morris County will start repairs on Bridge No. 1400-645 on Roxiticus Road over a tributary to Gladstone Brook in Mendham Township.

Work is scheduled to take place weekdays, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and is expected to take one to two weeks, weather permitting.

During the repairs, the bridge will remain closed and a detour will be in place directing motorists from Roxiticus Road to Union Schoolhouse Road, then to Mosle Road and finally to Mendham Road.

Local law enforcement will be on site to assist with traffic control. Motorists are advised to drive cautiously, allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes due to anticipated delays.

The project involves replacing an existing 36-inch corrugated metal pipe, which had been used to widen the original stone masonry arch, with a new 36-inch reinforced concrete pipe. The bridge has a roadway width of 24 feet, 9 inches and a span of 6 feet.

Sparwick Contracting, Inc. of Lafayette, New Jersey, is the contractor for the project. The total contract amount is $74,680 and is fully funded by Morris County.
