CannPowerment recalls cannabis beverage sold in New Jersey over potential packaging issue
NEW JERSEY — CannPowerment LLC has voluntarily recalled several lots of its ButACake Peach Elixir 5 mg cannabis-infused beverage after identifying a potential packaging and structural issue, according to a consumer advisory issued by the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission.
The May 29 recall affects select lots of the Peach Elixir ButACake 5 mg beverage sold in 7.5-ounce cans.
According to the manufacturer, the recall was initiated out of an abundance of caution while the company investigates the root cause of the packaging issue in coordination with the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission.
Officials said no adverse events or injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled products.
The affected lot numbers are:
• 1A4110300009AB1000000598
• 1A4110300009AB1000000600
• 1A4110300009AB1000000866
• 1A4110300009AB1000000867
• 1A4110300009AB1000000869
The commission is advising both consumers and retailers to check product labels for the affected lot numbers.
