CLINTON, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Town of Clinton Police Department has begun the process of seeking state accreditation through the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police.
Accreditation is a voluntary process that requires law enforcement agencies to demonstrate compliance with professional standards. Over the coming months, the department’s policies, procedures and daily operations will undergo a multi-stage review to determine whether they align with statewide best practices.
According to the department, the accreditation process is intended to enhance accountability and transparency, improve operational efficiency and promote continuous improvement through regular internal reviews.
“This process reflects our continuous commitment to accountability, transparency, and professional service for everyone who lives in, works in, or visits Clinton,” said Chief McGuire. “While the process requires significant time and effort, our entire department is eager to achieve this milestone and keep raising the bar for our community.”
The department said it will provide updates as the accreditation review process continues.
