Congressman Kean announces over $10 million returned to constituents

BERNARDSVILLE, NJ (Somerset County) – Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) announced Thursday that his casework team has successfully returned more than $10,012,316 to constituents since the office opened in January 2023.

In that time, Congressman Kean and his team have closed over 2,730 constituent cases, helping residents of New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District save money and access benefits from various federal agencies, including the VA, IRS, and Social Security Administration. The primary groups served include seniors, veterans, and families.

“$10,000,000 back to constituents is an incredible milestone that demonstrates the positive impact of the work we do to help our fellow New Jerseyans,” Kean said. “I am committed to serving my district to ensure every constituent receives the benefits and assistance to which they are entitled.”

Constituents have expressed their appreciation for the assistance provided by Team Kean:

“The staff was very helpful through the process and they were reassuring. I appreciate the great assistance,” said Payal from Flemington.

“Thank you to Congressman Kean’s office for your help with expediting my EAD! It was expedited so quickly, and I truly appreciate your help. I was also very pleasantly surprised by the customer service on the phone. It was great that there were no automated phone systems, and I was able to reach a rep right away who was very courteous. Overall, it was a very positive experience,” said Aparajitha from Somerville.

“Congressman Kean’s staff was highly responsive and helpful in resolving my issue. They reached out numerous times, and even when the problem was resolved, they followed up to ensure all was well. Thank you for all of your help,” said Antonio from Ledgewood.

“I emailed the office late in the evening after business hours, and they responded around 9 AM the next morning. By 4 PM that day, the Social Security worker called me, gave me her direct extension, apologized, and said she would process the application immediately. Congressman Kean’s office went above and beyond my expectations, and I am truly grateful. It gives me great faith that he will do what he says he will do,” said Amber from Washington.
