Crews free trapped driver in Route 57 crash in Warren County

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Firefighters from the Mansfield Township Fire Company and the Tri-County Volunteer Fire Company freed a trapped motorist following a crash Friday night on Route 57, according to the Mansfield Township Fire Company.

The crash was reported at 10:44 p.m. in the 1000 block of Route 57, prompting a response from the Mansfield Township Fire Company and the Tri-County Volunteer Fire Company. Fire officials said responders were dispatched for a motor vehicle accident with reported entrapment.

Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed heavy entrapment and established command, according to the fire company.

A mini pumper was the first apparatus on scene and began extrication operations. A rescue unit arrived shortly afterward with additional equipment and assisted in the ongoing effort, officials said.

Crews performed a full roof removal and dash lift to free the patient from the vehicle.

The injured person was transferred to the Washington Emergency Squad and paramedics from St. Clare’s Hospital for further treatment, officials said.
