Crowds turn out for Hackettstown Community Day

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Originally scheduled for Saturday, Hackettstown Community Day—organized by the Hackettstown Business Improvement District—was held on Sunday, June 8, after weather forced a one-day delay, but the community came out in full force to celebrate.

The event ran from noon to 8 p.m. at Hackettstown High School and the Arthur J. Sheldon Recreation Complex, featuring mini rides and inflatables, local food vendors, a Mars Wrigley candy giveaway, and activity tents hosted by organizations including Hackettstown Medical Center.

A main attraction of the day was the “Hackettstown’s Got Talent” competition from 1 to 4 p.m., hosted by Hackettstown Center for the Arts and sponsored by Strand Studios. Contestants of all ages performed for a live audience, with winners receiving BID Bucks and a trophy.

The “Dancing with the Local Stars” event, originally scheduled to take place during Community Day, was instead held indoors at Classic Ballroom Dance Studio in Hastings Square Mall on Saturday, June 7, at 5 p.m. due to the weather. Because of limited seating, the performance was also live streamed for the public. Featured dancers included Norman Worth of WRNJ, Yolanda Flecha of Fulton Bank, Joe Fisher of Manskirt Brewing, Luce DeMark of Interiors by Luce and Fromage, and Terri Rintz of Center Point Wellness, who was named the winner.
