The anniversary celebration, originally planned as a lunchtime gathering, continued well into the afternoon as former employees, longtime customers and friends stopped by to congratulate the Read family.

“Especially good for me. I had past customers, friends and employees show up. It went on til 5 p.m.!” Dave Read said.

According to the company’s website, Dave’s Friendly Service began as a small neighborhood garage with a focus on providing honest and reliable automotive repairs. Over the years, the business expanded into a full-service automotive repair facility serving customers throughout Warren County.

The company credits its longevity to an emphasis on customer service, transparency and quality workmanship. Its website describes a business philosophy centered on treating customers’ vehicles with the same care and attention as the owners would give their own.

That approach has helped the shop establish relationships with generations of local families, according to the company. The business also emphasizes the importance of dependable transportation for customers who rely on their vehicles for work, family responsibilities and everyday activities.

The Oct. 14 celebration recognized both the company’s history and its continued presence in Washington Borough, where it has operated for five decades.

Dave’s Friendly Service continues to operate at 288 W. Washington Ave., providing automotive repair and maintenance services to the surrounding community.
