Daytime and overnight lane closures scheduled in vicinity of I-78 toll bridge

Motorists can expect daytime and overnight lane closures in the vicinity of the I-78 Toll Bridge on Thursday and Friday, according to the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission

These closures are part of a paving and improvement project being conducted by a Commission contractor along the I-78 roadway segment at the Pennsylvania and New Jersey border.

Daytime Closures:

  • I-78 Eastbound (New Jersey Side of the Toll Bridge): A single-lane closure will be in effect from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, leaving two of three lanes open.
  • I-78 Westbound (Approaching the Toll Bridge): A single-lane closure will occur from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, also leaving two of three lanes open.

Overnight Closures:

  • I-78 Westbound (Various Locations): From the last New Jersey exit (Routes 22, 122, 173/Phillipsburg interchange/Exit 3) to the Pennsylvania side of the I-78 Toll Bridge, up to two lanes will be closed from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following day on Thursday and Friday, allowing only one of three lanes to remain open.
  • I-78 Eastbound (Various Locations): From the last exit in Pennsylvania (Morgan Hill Road/Easton interchange/Exit 75) to the first New Jersey exit (Routes 22, 122, 173/Phillipsburg interchange/Exit 3), up to two lanes will also be closed during the same overnight hours on Thursday and Friday.

Motorists are advised to reduce speeds and exercise caution while traveling through active work zones. The scheduled lane closures are subject to change due to weather conditions, emergencies, and other unforeseen factors.
