Daytime lane closures scheduled July 16–17 on I-78 Toll Bridge for inspections

NEW JERSEY — A series of daytime lane closures are scheduled next week on the Interstate 78 Toll Bridge to allow for a routine structural inspection, officials announced.

The closures will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, July 16 and 17, during off-peak daytime hours:

  • Wednesday, July 16, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. — Right eastbound lane closed (two of three lanes open).
  • Thursday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. — Right westbound lane closed (two of three lanes open).
  • Thursday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. — Left eastbound lane closed (two of three lanes open).

The closures will enable the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission’s general engineering consultant to conduct a structural inspection of the bridge.

Motorists are advised to reduce speed and use caution while traveling through the work zones. Officials noted that the schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances.
