Daytime lane closures set to begin March 30 on Uhlerstown-Frenchtown bridge

FRENCHTOWN BOROUGH, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Motorists traveling across the Uhlerstown-Frenchtown Toll-Supported Bridge can expect daytime traffic delays next week due to scheduled construction work, officials said.

From Monday through Friday, March 30 to April 3, traffic on the bridge will be reduced to a single lane with alternating flow controlled by flaggers between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The restrictions are in place to allow a contractor to remove portions of a temporary work platform installed beneath the bridge’s roadway deck over the past year.

Officials said brief stoppages and travel delays are possible during the work period.

Drivers are advised to slow down, use caution and follow directions from flaggers while traveling through the area.

The schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies or other factors.
