Driver arrested for cocaine possession following traffic stop in Morris County

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A New York man was arrested for cocaine possession following a traffic stop in Mount Olive Township.

On October 25, at 10:05 p.m., an officer observed a Nissan Altima merging onto Route 206 in an unsafe manner and stopped the vehicle in the area of Gold Mine Road, police said.

The driver was identified as Christopher Hidalgo, 41, of the Bronx, and a check of his credentials revealed an active warrant for his arrest out of Wayne Township, police said.

Hidalgo was arrested, and a search of his person uncovered a plastic baggie containing suspected cocaine, police said.

He was charged with possession of cocaine and possession of paraphernalia and was then released pending a court appearance, police said.
