Driver dies in overturned dump truck crash in Sussex County

FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A truck driver died when the Ford dump truck he was driving overturned Monday morning in Sussex County, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Philip Curry said.

The crash occurred at 10:21 a.m. at 78 Fox Hill Road in Frankford Township, Curry said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Ford 800 dump truck, driven by Joseph S. Spagnuolo, 32, of Frankford Township, was traveling northbound on Fox Hill Road when the vehicle traveled off the roadway to the left, impacted the guide rail, and overturned into a wooded area, Curry said.

As a result of the crash, Spagnuolo suffered fatal injuries, Curry said.

The crash remains under investigation, Curry said.
