Driver ejected, seriously injured after SUV overturns in Sussex County, state police say

FREDON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — A driver was seriously injured Thursday after being ejected from a vehicle that overturned in Sussex County, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash shortly after it occurred on County Route 618 East near milepost 1.0 in Fredon Township, State Police spokesman Trooper II Christopher Postorino said.

A preliminary investigation determined that a Subaru SUV was traveling eastbound when it veered off the right side of the road and overturned, Postorino said. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries.

The driver was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation, and no further details were immediately available, Postorino said.
