Firefighters extinguish tractor-trailer fire on I-80 in Morris County
ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Firefighters extinguished a tractor-trailer fire on Interstate 80 East near Exit 29 late Friday afternoon, officials said.
The Roxbury Fire Department was dispatched around 4:49 p.m. and arrived to find the cab of a tractor-trailer fully engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading into the trailer. Crews quickly began suppression operations while additional support was requested due to the intensity of the blaze and water supply needs.
Tanker trucks from the Mount Arlington and Budd Lake fire departments provided assistance. Morris County Hazmat also responded to help contain diesel fuel that leaked during the incident.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control after about two hours. The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
