Four charged in 2024 Washington Township burglary investigation, police say

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Four people have been charged in connection with a residential burglary that occurred in the summer of 2024, following a year-long investigation by the Washington Township Police Detective Bureau.

Detectives said the investigation involved multiple subpoenas and follow-ups on numerous leads before identifying four suspects: a 41-year-old man from Fresh Meadows, N.Y.; a 25-year-old man from Richmond Hill, N.Y.; a 48-year-old woman from Monticello, N.Y.; and a 32-year-old man from Kiamesha, N.Y. Their names were not released.

According to police, the suspects allegedly deposited an American Express check stolen during the burglary into their personal bank accounts.

As a result, all four were charged with third-degree receiving stolen property and third-degree theft. They were issued mandatory court appearances in Morris County Superior Court.
