Greenwich Township police officer accused of falsifying records in department system

GREENWICH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Greenwich Township police officer is accused of falsifying records in the police department’s record management system, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.

In August 2024, following information from the Greenwich Township Police Department, the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation into entries made into the department’s records management system by Greenwich Township Police Officer Tyler Roller, 30, of Somerset, officials said.

On Thursday, Dec. 19, Roller was arrested and charged with fourth-degree falsifying or tampering with records. He is accused of entering two names into the system for incidents in which those individuals were not involved. Additionally, he faces a disorderly persons offense charge for tampering with public records or information by making false entries in records maintained by the government, authorities said.

Fourth-degree crimes in New Jersey carry a maximum sentence of 18 months in state prison, while disorderly persons offenses carry a maximum sentence of six months in a County Correctional Center.

The investigation was carried out by the Greenwich Township Police Department and the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.
