Habitat for Humanity Northwest NJ hosting free gingerbread decorating event for kids on Dec. 5

WASHINGTON BOROUGH, N.J. (Warren County) — Habitat for Humanity Northwest New Jersey will kick off the holiday season with a free gingerbread house decorating event for children on Friday, Dec. 5, at the organization’s community center at 31 Belvidere Ave in Washington Borough.

The event will run from 5 to 8 p.m. and will offer families the chance to decorate a gingerbread house to take home or enter into Habitat’s gingerbread house contest. Winners will be announced on Dec. 11. All supplies will be provided, and the event is open while supplies last.

Habitat for Humanity Northwest New Jersey is a newly merged affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, combining the former Warren and Sussex County affiliates earlier this year. The organization has served Sussex County since 1993 and Warren County since 1999. It operates as an accredited 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.
