HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — The Town of Hackettstown will hold a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Sept. 11 to mark the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks and honor the lives lost, according to town officials.
The ceremony will begin at 8:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the 9/11 Memorial in front of the Hackettstown Municipal Building, 215 W. Stiger St.
Mayor Jerry DiMaio announced the ceremony and invited the community to come together to remember those who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, recognize the courage of first responders and reflect on the historic day.
All veteran and service organizations serving the Hackettstown area are invited to participate. The ceremony is also open to residents and members of the public.
Organizations interested in participating are asked to email press@hackettstown.net by Friday, Sept. 4, with information about how and in what capacity they would like to participate so they can be added to the ceremony agenda.
Several roads are tentatively scheduled to be closed from 8 to 10 a.m. on the day of the ceremony.
West Stiger Street is expected to be closed between Route 46, or Main Street, and Beatty Street. Beatty Street is expected to be closed between Valentine and West Stiger streets, while Charles Street is expected to be closed between West Prospect and West Stiger streets.
Residents will continue to have access to their homes, and businesses in the area will remain accessible during the closures, according to town officials.
Road closure times are subject to change based on weather conditions.
