Heath Village to host free community garden tour on July 21

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Heath Village will host a free community garden tour later this month, giving visitors an opportunity to explore its resident-maintained garden and learn about the retirement community’s outdoor amenities.

The walking tour is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, with a rain date of Thursday, July 23, at the Heath Village campus, 430 Schooley’s Mountain Road.

The program will feature a discussion led by resident gardeners on the history of the community garden, its role within Heath Village and other outdoor features across the retirement community’s more than 100-acre campus.

A highlight of this year’s event will be a tour of Heath Village’s new greenhouse and a presentation on its seed program.

A light lunch will be served following the tour.
