Hunterdon County brush fire contained, no injuries reported

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A brush fire that sparked Wednesday afternoon in Raritan Township has been contained and is now under control, according to police.

The incident began around 12:02 p.m. when the Raritan Township Police Department and Raritan Township Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in a wooded area between Fox Grape Road and Hardscrabble Road.

Multiple fire departments from various jurisdictions arrived to assist in combating the flames, authorities said.

“There will be smoke around the area as hot spots continue to be dealt with,” fire officials said.

There have been no reported injuries or damage to any structures, authorities said.
