Hunterdon County Commissioner Director Jeff Kuhl addresses attendees at 2024 Polytech Awards ceremony

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Hunterdon County Commissioner Director Jeff Kuhl last week addressed the 2024 Polytech Award recipients, their guests, and members of the Vocational Board of Education, including Superintendent Todd Bonsall, at Hunterdon Central High School, in Raritan Township.

Director Commissioner Kuhl shared, “On behalf of my colleagues on the Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners, I extend our congratulations to each of tonight’s award recipients. Your hard work and dedication to your academic studies have not gone unnoticed, and tonight is an opportunity to honor your individual and collective achievements.”

Hunterdon County Vocational School District (HCVSD) provides career and technical education in over 19 programs of study and offers students the opportunity to receive highly focused training in a career and technical field of their choice. Students are also encouraged to take on leadership opportunities and get involved in career and technical student organizations that allow for students to compete at the local, state, and national level using the skills learned in their career major.

Several of the programs offered at HCVSD also have dual credit options in which students can elect to earn college credit while in high school with institutes such as RVCC, Rutgers University, and Centenary University to name a few. The class of 2024 collectively earned a total of 625 college credits and received over $1.5 million in scholarship awards.

“I want you to know that I believe everyone is born with a certain God given talent, and when you find your spot, you will excel in life and enjoy what you do. Don’t listen to what the media tells you who you should be, or what you should believe in. Believe in yourself, and your values, and it will come to you. That is what makes us all Americans. I wish you continued success going forward! Congratulations once again and thank you for inviting me to be part of this evening’s ceremony,” Kuhl said.
