Hunterdon County Commissioners appoint Dan Bush as new Department Director of Public Works

HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – The Hunterdon County Commissioners this week announced the appointment of Dan Bush to the position of Department Director of Public Works.

Bush brings over 30 years of experience in public works to the position and recently held the title of Division Head of Parks & Recreation.

“We are excited to welcome Dan Bush as the new Director of Public Works. His dedication and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to keep Hunterdon County’s roads among the best in the state. On behalf of the Board, I would like to congratulate Dan on this well-deserved appointment,” Commissioner Director Jeff Kuhl said.

Bush began his career with Hunterdon County as a seasonal laborer with the Department of Public Works and worked his way up to General Supervisor of Roads, prior to leading Parks & Recreation since 2018.

“Mr. Bush has been a long-time employee of Hunterdon County. His leadership and commitment to excellence make him the perfect choice to head our Department of Public Works and holds a number of professional certifications including being a Certified Public Manager from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey,” Kuhl said.

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music. Jay has held numerous jobs over the years such as stunt car driver, bartender, voice-over artist, traffic reporter (award winning), NY Yankee maintenance crewmember and peanut farm worker. His hobbies include mountain climbing, snowmobiling, cooking, performing stand-up comedy and he is an avid squirrel watcher. Jay has been a guest on America’s Morning Headquarters,program on The Weather Channel, and was interviewed by Sam Champion.
