CLINTON, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners recently recognized The Stone Bean at Riverside Coffee and Tea in Clinton with a proclamation celebrating the local business’s 10th anniversary.
Commissioner Jeff Kuhl presented the proclamation to The Stone Bean’s owners, recognizing a decade of serving the Clinton community and contributing to the town’s downtown and tourism experience.
“The Stone Bean is a wonderful example of the small, locally owned businesses that make our communities special,” Kuhl said. “For the past 10 years, they have created a welcoming place for residents and visitors to gather, enjoy a cup of coffee and experience everything that makes Clinton such a unique destination.”
The Stone Bean celebrated its 10th anniversary Aug. 29 at its Clinton location. The celebration included free birthday treats, including cupcakes and scones, giveaways featuring Stone Bean merchandise and gift cards, and a grand prize.
The business also invited customers to share photos and memories from its 10 years serving the Clinton community.
Located along the South Branch Raritan River in the heart of Clinton, The Stone Bean offers coffee, specialty drinks, tea, baked goods and light fare in a setting overlooking the river and historic Red Mill area.
Kuhl said businesses such as The Stone Bean play an important role in Hunterdon County’s tourism and economic development efforts.
“Small businesses are at the heart of our local economies, and places like The Stone Bean help give our communities their own character and sense of place,” Kuhl said. “They are also part of what brings visitors to Hunterdon County and encourages them to spend time exploring our downtowns, supporting local businesses and experiencing what our communities have to offer.”
Hunterdon County has continued to support local businesses and community-based tourism initiatives through its economic development and tourism programs, recognizing the connection between downtowns, local businesses and the county’s tourism economy.
“Congratulations to The Stone Bean on 10 years in business,” Kuhl said. “We appreciate everything you have contributed to the Clinton community over the past decade, and we look forward to seeing you continue to be a part of Hunterdon County for many years to come.”
