Hunterdon County man killed in motorcycle crash on I-287

BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Somerset County) – A 28-year-old Whitehouse Station man died in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 287 in Somerset County on Thursday, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Charles Marchan.

The crash happened at around 7:36 p.m. on Interstate 287 northbound at milepost 16.6, Bridgewater Township, Marchan said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Mazda passenger car was traveling north on I-287 and a Yamaha motorcycle, operated by Mazen Alnaser, was traveling behind the Mazda when the motorcycle exited the roadway to the left and struck the guardrail, Marchan said.

Alnaser was then ejected, and struck a guardrail support post. The motorcycle continued northbound and struck the rear of the Mazda, Marchan said.

As a result of the crash, Alnaser suffered fatal injuries, Marchan said.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was available, Marchan said.
