Hunterdon County offers full lineup of summer events for all ages

HUTNERDON COUNTY, N.J. — Hunterdon County is bustling with summer events and activities for all ages, offering a wide range of free and low-cost programs through its parks, libraries, and local businesses, officials said this week.

From nature walks and family festivals to hands-on learning and live performances, residents and visitors can enjoy a full calendar of experiences throughout the county.

“Summer is the perfect time to get outdoors, explore our beautiful county, and create lasting memories with family and friends,” said Commissioner Director John E. Lanza, who serves as the liaison to the Division of Parks and Recreation. “Whether you’re hiking in our parks, attending a story time at your local library, or enjoying a community concert, Hunterdon County has something to offer every resident and visitor.”

The Hunterdon County Division of Parks and Recreation is hosting a range of activities including:

  • Guided nature hikes
  • Canoe trips and environmental education programs
  • Arts and crafts workshops
  • Evening events under the stars

Meanwhile, the Hunterdon County Library System is running its popular summer reading challenge, along with craft sessions, author visits, movie days, and interactive STEM programs for children, teens, and adults.

“Whether you’re a book lover, an outdoor enthusiast, or just looking for fun with the kids, there’s something for everyone,” said Commissioner Zach Rich, co-liaison to the Hunterdon County Library Commission. “With free and low-cost options across the county, there’s never been a better time to make the most of the summer season.”

Additional local activities can be found through the Explore Hunterdon tourism initiative, which highlights regional events, dining, attractions, and outdoor adventures—including pick-your-own fruit farms and seasonal festivals.
