Hunterdon County Senior Center adds monthly open line dancing class starting Jan. 30

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Hunterdon County Senior Center will launch a new monthly open line dancing class starting Friday, Jan. 30, offering older adults a chance to exercise and socialize, county officials said.

The class will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hunterdon County Senior Center, 4 Gauntt Place, Building 1, in Raritan Township. Organizers said the program is designed to promote physical activity, social engagement and fun for seniors in the community.

“This new line dancing program is a wonderful way for our seniors to stay active, connect with others, and enjoy themselves,” said Commissioner Shaun C. Van Doren, liaison to the Department of Human Services. “Programs like this support both physical health and social well-being, and we are happy to offer another engaging opportunity at the Senior Center.”

Officials said each session will include 30 minutes of beginner instruction to make the class accessible to newcomers, while still welcoming dancers of all skill levels. After instruction, participants will have time to practice and dance together in a relaxed setting.

Residents are invited to join the “Silver Stompers” on the last Friday of each month. Space is limited and advance registration is required, officials said.

To register, call the Senior Center at 908-788-1359.
