Hunterdon County veteran’s family to be featured on Lifetime’s Military Makeover with Montel

HAMPTON, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A Hunterdon County family will take center stage in the upcoming season of Military Makeover with Montel®, as the long-running Lifetime TV series highlights the inspiring story of U.S. Army veteran Stephen Linn and his family of Hampton.

The show, produced in partnership with Purple Heart Homes and Western Governors University, will premiere its 44th season on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 a.m. ET/PT on Lifetime TV.

Inspired by the military service of both his grandfathers, who fought in World War II, Linn enlisted in the Army after high school and served nearly a decade in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 10th Mountain Division. His service earned him two Valorous Unit Awards, an Army Commendation Medal, and recognition as a Distinguished Member of the 30th Infantry Regiment.

A defining moment in his military career came during a mission in Afghanistan, when his platoon came under heavy enemy fire while conducting reconnaissance in a Taliban stronghold. Despite being surrounded, the team completed its mission without casualties.

After leaving the Army in 2015, Linn met his wife, Leah, while stationed at West Point. The couple later settled in Hampton, where they are raising three children. Now a Critical Care Registered Nurse and Rapid Response Nurse, Linn continues to live with the lasting effects of his service, including PTSD and chronic pain. He also faced a series of medical challenges in 2023, surviving both a motorcycle accident and two strokes.

“The Linn family’s unwavering resilience, dedication to service, and strength in the face of adversity embody the very spirit of Military Makeover with Montel,” said Nicole Oropesa, President of BrandStar Entertainment. “It’s an honor to rally our partners and viewers in support of this incredible family, giving back in a way that truly makes a difference.”

The series, hosted by Montel Williams, follows military families as their homes are renovated and their stories shared with the nation.

“Even after leaving the service over 30 years ago, I feel like I never truly took off the uniform,” said Williams. “Advocating for those currently serving and our veterans has been the most fulfilling and honorable mission of my professional life.”

The Linn family’s journey—and the community effort to support them—will be featured throughout the upcoming season.

The Season 44 premiere of Military Makeover with Montel® airs Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 a.m. ET/PT on Lifetime TV.
