RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Hunterdon Medical Center has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Resuscitation Silver quality achievement award for its commitment to providing guideline-based care for patients who experience cardiac arrest while hospitalized.
The award recognizes hospitals that consistently follow the American Heart Association’s evidence-based treatment guidelines for in-hospital cardiac arrest, including patient safety protocols, rapid emergency response, high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation and post-resuscitation care.
According to the American Heart Association’s 2026 Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics Report, about one in four adults who experience an in-hospital cardiac arrest survive to hospital discharge. While survival rates have improved over time, the association says opportunities remain to strengthen hospital resuscitation systems and improve patient outcomes.

Hunterdon Medical Center earned the recognition by meeting specific performance measures in the treatment of adult patients who experience cardiac arrest during hospitalization.
