HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. — In a touching act of community care, the Hunterdon County Quilting Guild donated 103 teddy bears to the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Office during a recent gathering held at the Readington Reformed Church.
Sheriff Fred Brown accepted the donation on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office and praised the Guild’s continued support for local emergency services.
“These teddy bears will provide comfort to children in distressing situations,” Brown said. “We are very thankful to the ladies of the Hunterdon County Quilting Guild for their thoughtful donation; their compassion and generosity are truly appreciated.”
The stuffed animals will be distributed by local first responders during an upcoming county event. The initiative aims to help soothe children during traumatic experiences, reinforcing the county’s commitment to both physical safety and emotional well-being.
The Hunterdon County Quilting Guild, known for its charitable work, regularly creates quilts and other handmade items for individuals and families in need. The group meets monthly, typically on the third Friday, at the Readington Reformed Church.
