Ice dislodged from tractor-trailer on I-80 in Warren County strikes car windshield, injuring driver

HOPE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – The driver of a vehicle was injured after ice dislodged from an unidentified tractor-trailer on I-80 in Warren County Tuesday morning, striking the car’s windshield, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

Troopers responded to the motor vehicle incident at 11:41 a.m. on I-80 westbound at milepost 13 in Hope Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that ice had dislodged from an unknown tractor-trailer and struck the windshield of an Audi passenger vehicle. The driver sustained minor injuries, Lebron said.

The incident remains under investigation, Lebron said.
